Ted and Dianne Booher dedicated their careers to teaching life sciences at local schools and universities. Through the Booher Family Foundation, the Boohers are able to act upon their passion, supporting programs that focus upon childhood nutrition.
Established by Dr. Donald and Janice Doudna to provide the opportunity for their children to join them in their quest that many share: For all children to succeed. Through their charitable fund, the Doudna’s support programs that promote childhood literacy and address the needs of at-risk children in our community.
Established by Floyd A. Scherer as an endowed unrestricted fund that provides a legacy of support to the United Way to help solve the critical needs in our community forever.
Established as a bequest from Francis B. Gadbois, whose life-long passion for children resulted in an endowed legacy of support for our community’s children by supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Volusia/Flagler forever.
Established by Arlan J. and Dale Horwitz Clayton to create an endowment to sponsor education for students in West Volusia County forever by supplementing their Take Stock in Children (TSIC) scholarships with grants for college expenses such as books, housing and meal plans.
Through their charitable fund, the Fux family exercise their passion for education by providing financial support to initiatives and charities involved in education.
Established by an anonymous donor in hope of inspiring others to join in contributing to the fund to help provide critical operational funding to God’s Bathhouse of Volusia County, a nonprofit organization that provides homeless individuals with a safe, secure environment to maintain good hygiene, remain healthy, and receive clothing so they may have a greater sense of dignity and confidence to change their situation.
Through the generosity of anonymous donors with a strong passion for assisting at-risk students, the HELP Fund has created numerous opportunities for high school students in New Smyrna Beach. Both the Cudas UnHooked program and the New Smyrna Beach High School Teen Zone were established with funding from the HELP Fund.
The Dick and Paula Kelton established this fund in order to address one of the most pressing challenges in our community: hunger. Funds from the Kelton Family Fund support local efforts to end hunger in Volusia county.
