Investment Strategy

The Foundation Finance/Investment Review Committee believes the achievement of investment returns should be viewed in a long-term context.  The investments will be made to balance the goals of achieving desirable long-term results while maintaining the liquidity necessary to meet distribution requests and the on-going operations of the Foundation.  To achieve these goals the Investment’s governing philosophy is to:

  • Achieve long-term growth of assets while preserving capital;
  • Target investment strategies which demonstrate the ability to generate consistent long-term results;
  • Earn the highest total return that is prudently possible consistent with the risk tolerance established by the Investment.

The Committee recognizes that the most effective way to achieve their investment goals and objectives is to combine different managers wherever possible with demonstrated skills in their respective disciplines in a manner calculated (on the basis of historical standards) to earn the maximum return with the minimum risk for the Fund.
